
Lucknow: The first major tender related to the construction of Lucknow Metro’s East–West (EW) Corridor has been awarded, marking a key milestone for the city’s Phase 1B metro expansion.
The AYESA Ingenieria y Arquitectura S.A.U – AYESA India Pvt. Ltd. Joint Venture has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) and has been awarded the Detailed Design Consultant (DDC) contract for Lucknow Metro Line-2 by the Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC).
The consultancy contract, designated LKDDC-02, has been recommended for award at a value of ₹15.90 crore.
About Lucknow Metro Line-2

Lucknow Metro’s Line-2 will be an 11.165 km long East–West corridor connecting Charbagh Railway Station with Vasant Kunj, passing through Old Lucknow via 12 stations. The project received approval from the Central Government in August 2025 and is estimated to cost ₹5,801 crore.
As per the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase 1B:

4.286 km of the corridor will be elevated, comprising 5 stations between Vasant Kunj and Thakurganj

6.879 km will be underground, comprising 7 stations between Charbagh and Niwazganj
Bidding Details
UPMRC had invited bids for the DDC contract in August 2025, with a contract duration of 60 months (5 years).
Technical bids were opened in October 2025, revealing two qualified bidders:

AYESA Ingenieria y Arquitectura S.A.U – AYESA India Pvt. Ltd. JV

SYSTRA – Ardanuy JV
Financial bids were opened on January 21, following which AYESA was declared the lowest bidder.
Scope of Work
The brief scope of the DDC contract includes:

Detailed design for civil, architectural, E&M and traction works

Design of 4.29 km elevated section with 5 elevated stations

Design of 6.88 km underground section with 7 underground stations

Design of one depot at Vasant Kunj, Lucknow
The award of this consultancy contract sets the stage for subsequent civil construction tenders for the East–West corridor, which is expected to significantly improve east–west connectivity across Lucknow.
